Yoga Skill Lab
When: The first Saturday of every month at 9:35am following Sun Flow.
Time Commitment: 30 minutes
What: Yoga Skill Lab is a free dedicated time held after Sun Flow to explore and practice specific asana poses. This is an informal time where students can ask questions and receive feedback and tips from the yoga teacher about their specific pose practice. The reference books from the yoga library may be consulted to explore additional cues. This time is completely student led with the teacher just there to provide feedback and recommendations.
It is recommended that students pick a single challenge pose to work on during Skill Lab, and focus on this pose for a month for their personal practice. Yoga Skill Lab is free and will be held monthly, with the hope that students will continue to practice their chosen challenge poses throughout the month.
Possible challenge poses to explore: Eagle Pose, Extended Hand-to-Big-Toe Pose, Warrior III, Half Moon Pose, Dancer Pose, Revolved Triangle Pose, Revolved Half Moon Pose, Revolved Chair Pose, Camel Pose, Bridge Pose, Pigeon Pose with Chest Lift, Locust Pose, Bow Pose, Double Pigeon (Fire Log Pose), Revolved Head-to-Knee Pose, Cow Face Pose, One-Legged King Pigeon Prep, Crow Pose, Side Crow Pose, Flying Splits, Forearm Balance, Headstand, Handstand, Side Plank Variations, Full Boat Pose
Please note that Yoga Skill Lab is not intended to encourage the idea of "advancing" in yoga. There is no need at all to do complicated or physically challenging poses to have a fully embodied yoga practice. However, this time intended to allow students to explore poses they may be curious about with additional time, teacher observation and feedback that regular classes do not allow for.
Cost: No cost, this session is offered as a seva class to our community.
